Contemporary Chamber Music Performance
(MUSI 238) is a course for qualified Yale College musicians. The class focuses on the preparation and performance of contemporary chamber music works, emphasizing collaborative workshopping methods for new pieces written primarily by student composers, in collaboration with Yale College's Composition Seminar.
Students learn about musical analysis through worshop and performance, leadership skills, artistic autonomy/the discovery of one’s own voice, performance as a visual medium, extended techniques, concert production, entrepreneurship, and the performer’s role in bringing to life a new piece.
